Cement Tiles are painted in the factory from new and over time the weather degrades this coating and makes the tile porous, if your roof is 20 years old or more it is time to think about a Restoration.

Our process starts with the check over of the roof for any broken tiles that need replacing before the cleaning begins. We bring 300 tiles with us on our truck along with a skip bin to dispose of all rubbish. We disconnect all downpipes from the gutters and attach our own piping that diverts all the mess to gardens and lawns, this is very important as you do not want all the muck in your storm water or rain water tanks.

The next step is a full removal of all ridge caps and the chiselling off of all old cement. 

We will not do a Restoration without removing all ridge caps. Re Pointing is just a patch over and will not stop them from cracking. 

We then Re Bed and Re Point all ridge caps this process ensures the ridge caps will last as long as the paint and you will not have to worry about your roof for a long time.

We then follow this with a 3 coat system which makes the roof look brand new and also paint 5 spare tiles to match new Colour in case you ever require them

All gutters are cleaned our too make sure no muck gets into downpipes once they are re connected.

After 20 years colorbond coatings start to fade and in some cases disappear altogether back to the silver or white base coat which looks untidy and usually signals it is time to Re Coat the roof.

We start the process by changing any rusted screws and valley irons. We then disconnect downpipes and attach our own piping to divert water into gardens and lawns and away from storm water pipes and rainwater tanks.

We tarp up neighbors and any property that can’t get wet before starting the cleaning process.

Once the roof has been pressure cleaned we follow up with a 3 coat process to make the roof look like Colorbond again.

Painting and iron roof is much more difficult than a tiled one and there is certain criteria like the pitch of the roof and the length of the sheets and not all iron roofs can be painted we decide on a roof by roof basis with these Restorations.

Terracotta tiles cannot be painted and don’t need to as once they are cleaned they look really nice and get their color back.

The biggest issue with terracotta is the moss build up which causes the tiles to spread apart and start leaking. They are also a lot weaker than cement and can break easily with age so it is good idea to remove all moss so that all weak and broken tiles can be located.

We apply a roof wash to soften the moss before cleaning.

We then pressure clean the roof with someone on the ground at all times cleaning up the mess as we go.

The next step is a full removal of all ridge caps and the chiseling off of all old cement this is something we pride ourselves on and something most other companies will not do unless asked to.

We will not do a Restoration without removing all ridge caps.

We then Re Bed and Re Point all ridge caps matching the tils color as close as possible.
